Product Description

UniGel ion exchange media are made of hydrophilic acrylic microspheres with special functionalization on the surface. They provide a loading capacity twice as high as traditional ion exchange media, while resistant to high ionic strength. UniGel series are uniform in particle size, with optimal hydrophilicity, good mechanical strength, and excellent chemical stability; these features make them particularly suitable for capture step (initial separation) in downstream processing.

Nanomicrotech offers UniGel,Uni,UniMSP, and Nano series of monodisperse Ion Exchange Chromatography Media using a unique de novo synthesis technology that is developed in-house. These ion exchange media meet the demands of downstream processing,from capture, intermediate purification, polishing and analysis. UniGel series possess a strong absorption capability toward biomolecules, evenunder considerably high ionic strength; therefore they are well-suited for thecapture and initial purification of proteins. Uni series feature outstanding resolution, high loading capacity, and lownon-specific adsorption, making them ideal for intermediate purification ofproteins. Nanoseries aresmaller in particle size, which is designed specifically for fine separation andanalysis of proteins. All these types of media (resins) have thecharacteristics of high rigidity, good chemical stability, high resolution, lowback pressure, and long lifetime, meeting the requirements of bio-analysis,separation, and manufacturing.

Uniseries ion exchange media are made from highlycross-linked acrylic microspheres with a hydrophilic coating; subsequently the desiredion exchange functional groups are later introduced onto the surface. Complete hydrophilic coating greatly reducesthe non-specific adsorption between the stationary phase and biomolecules, assuringa better yield. The unique coating and derivatization technology enables Uni seriesmedia to have a high dynamic loading capacity of proteins. Uni series media are ideal for efficient separation of biomolecules suchas proteins, Nucleic Acids, polypeptides etc.

UniMSP series are multi-modal ion exchange media, with thesame base resin and hydrophilic coating as Uni series. The co-existence of bonded ion exchange functional groups andsurface hydrophobic groups leads to a mixed interaction of both ion exchangeand hydrophilicity. In some cases of purification, UniMSP series couldshow improved selectivity and resolution, they could also tolerate sampleloading at high conductivity.

HighUniformity of Particle Size

Nanomicrotech manufactures ion exchange media of highly uniformparticle sizes (Fig. 1), with precise pore structures. The product line includes UniGel, Uni , and Uni MSP series mediabased on polyacrylic matrix, and Nano series of media based on poly(styrene-co-divinylbenzene, PS/DVB). All ion exchangemedia from Nanomicrotech come with distinct advantages of lot-to-lotreproducibility, easy column packing, etc.

OutstandingMechanical Strength

Nanomicrotech IEX media are made from highly cross-linked polyacrylicor poly(styrene-co-divinylbenzene, PS/DVB). They have a remarkable advantage ofoutstanding mechanical strength, when compared with those ion exchange resinsbased on dextran or agarose. Nanomicrotech IEX media have shown little changein bed volume (Fig. 2), with increasing flow rate or pressure. This featuregreatly improves efficiency of downstream processing, and it also addresses theneed for a linear scale-up from the lab to manufacturing.

Good Chemical Stability

NanomicrotechIEX media are made from highly cross-linked polyacrylic orpoly(styrene-co-divinylbenzene). They maintaina good stability over a wide range of pH, which gives customer more rooms ofoperation (parameters/conditions) to achieve process development andoptimization.

High Resolution

Nanomicrotech IEX media have shown higherresolution and better recovery than a competitor`s IEX media in the separationof biomolecules, such as proteins, nucleic acids, polypeptides, andpolysaccharides (Fig. 4 & 5).

High Loading Capacity
